For it behooveth both patiently to hear, wisely to know, uprightly to give sentence, and courageously to do execution: Considering that many do oftentimes judge rightly: but yet for want of courage they only have their sentence in papers.
In the arena
Knowing the right thing without execution is merely mental decoration. A conviction that never leaves your journal is just a diary entry.
Pick one thing you've been putting off because it's uncomfortable. A hard conversation with your wife. A correction for your child. A confession to a brother. You already know the right call. You've probably been thinking about it for weeks, maybe months, maybe years. It's been gnawing at you.
Today, do it. Not perfectly. Just do it. James 1:22 says to be doers of the word, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. The deception is subtle. You feel righteous because you thought the right thought, but God calls you to act. Open your mouth, move your feet, spend the money, make the call.
